I do have to say though, I actually peel garlic this way, so it does work for me. I blog about the things I actually do... I try an mention if something is new to me, otherwise these are things I do in my daily life. ..And if something proves less than satisfactory (e.g.. my deer soap), I try to mention that. (In other words I try to report negative results.) Did you notice I break the cloves apart before putting them in the bowl? The skins do come off, but you have to shake quite a while. there might be a few pieces of skin left on a few cloves, but I find that to be the exception not the rule. Also, a larger bowl is generally better, the small one is what I had handy at the time and it took longer to work. They ...This technique only breaks the cloves apart. They are still individually sheathed in their skins. You are only getting rid of some of the paper but you cannot totally peel garlic this way.
